The City of Columbus Department of Public Service has posted updated ADA Rules and Regulations. The Rules and Regulations were effective as of April 1, 2018. These new Rules and Regulations replace the “Wheelchair Ramp Requirements, Rules and Regulations”, dated March 5, 2011. An ADA compliance form to be used by designer, contractors, and City staff has also been posted. Updated Standard constructions drawings will be posted soon including SCD 2319 (Curb Ramps). This session is being held for consultants and contractors performing ADA work in the right of way to provide an overview of the new policy.
If a project was already scoped as of April 1, 2018, then the scope will dictate the improvements and curb ramp locations. New scopes should follow this new policy.
